This short course is designed for engineers and researchers who are planning to participate in various engineering and construction aspects on the moon. The course will present an overview of lunar environmental conditions and focus on several intellectually enriching topics, including lunar habitats: architecture, design and analysis considerations; construction challenges; material and lunar simulant development for construction; utilization of local resources; construction techniques including robotic excavation; drilling techniques; and infrastructure development and planning. It is intended especially for civil engineers working in space and extraterrestrial endeavor and aerospace engineers working on surface site preparation, habitat structures, construction and mining in extraterrestrial bodies.
